This device lets you make chocolate from scratch at home. California startup CocoTerra’s tabletop chocolate maker turns crushed cocoa beans into a ring of chocolate pieces with two hours. The device is paired with an app that offers recipes and instructions. It grinds cocoa nibs; refines them; conches, or polishes, the mixture; tempers the chocolate; and molds it into a solid chocolate bar, all without you having to lift a finger. CocoTerra has reportedly raised $2 million from investors. According to its website, the chocolate maker is not for sale yet, and its price has yet to be determined. CNBC reports that the company will attempt a holiday 2020 launch. The global chocolate market is projected to reach $161 billion by 2024.
